Top 10 Games

Mutual Top 10
For the very first episode of the podcast, we decided that a great way to introduce ourselves (in addition to regular conversation) would be to come to a mutual “Top 10″ list of our favorite games of all time. These are not necessary the “best” games, and the three of us may not even necessarily agree on all the picks.

In addition to this, all three of us put our own individual “Top 10″ lists up for your reading pleasure, which may give even more insight into how we came to the mutual “Top 10″ list.

Mike’s Top 10
Mike’s list is filled with games based primarily on whimsical imagination, with a few curve balls thrown in for good measure. It may be a somewhat cliché list at points, but you can’t go wrong with any of these games.

Jeff’s Top 10
Jeff’s list goes from the super-old to the super-new, with a little bit of PC gaming thrown in for good measure.

Andrew’s Top 10
Andrew’s list is also a rather diverse one, featuring games from many different genres and generations.

Top 10 Games We’ve Never Played
Our Top 10 list for episode two of the podcast was all about games we’ve never played. That’s right, after attempting to set up credibility in the first episode, we’re destroying it right away in episode two. For the list we tried to pick games that had some sort of relevance or mass-market appeal. It would be easy to pick random Atari 2600 games from 1984 that none of the three of us had played, but would that really make for an interesting conversation?

Top 10 Peripheral-Based Games
Our Top 10 list for episode three of the podcast was tied directly into our topic of peripherals and peripheral-based gaming. In trying to come up with this particular list, we wanted to hit the games that while you theoretically COULD play without their appropriate (and usually packed-in) peripheral… it would be a completely different gaming experience. These are the ones we felt shook up the gaming industry a little bit, and have either wonderfully fond memories of, or are so completely entrenched in right now that we can’t put down the damn plastic.

Mike’s Top 10 PS2 Games I Own And Have Never Played
I have somewhere around 60-70 PS2 games (though a good portion are DragonBall Z and Dance Dance Revolution), so you can imagine there have to be a few that I simply never got around to playing. You may be surprised at how many genuinely-good and high-profile games I own that just never made their way into the PS2′s DVD drive.

Top 10 Console Download Games
These are our “Top 10 Console Download Games” that are, for the most part, either entirely new games created just for the new generation, or remixes of older games with some type of modern enhancements. We may break some of our own rules with a couple choices, but so be it! We aim to be different.

Top 10 Dreamcast Games
On the eighth episode of our podcast, we discussed the Dreamcast on its ten-year anniversary. Each of us had very specific memories with the system due to our coming to it at wildly different times, but there was enough crossover that we were able to come up with a list of our ten favorite games.
