Because I'm an elitest who wants to own every system ever, and needs to expand his horizons beyond Nintendo systems. I'm sick of games I want to play being on consoles I don't own! Finally owning a PS2 allows me to finally enter a world I haven't entered yet. Why now? No reason. It helps that it's cheap now, but I don't mind getting a launch, new, old, or used consoles. I go for new, but honestly, I pick up consoles when I can. (Are you kidding? My PS2 is used... Not the slim one either. But it's still awesome.) “Maybe even get your first PS2 ever?”
