To further add to the controversy:

I’m not going to admit that the opinions in this video are of my own (especially because it mostly is a statement on how the game does not hold up today), but X-Play is about to anger you severely.

I love the comments in this post as well. My favorite has to be “Dragon Warrior graphics sucked too lolz!!!1 Look, I can write for X-Play now!” Sure, because X-Play is all about the lolz!!!1 Anyway, just here to fan the fires. I won’t say I’m glad I’m not alone, but it’s comforting to know that my lack of interest in replaying it is justified.

This is just another dagger for me in the coffin of X-Play. They’re too busy praising the new games, which they will rag on in another year.
Sure FF7 isn’t the greatest feat in gaming graphics, but those are the graphics most of us fell in love with. Oh Adam….You suck ok. I’ll have you know the story was and still is a feat in gaming RPGs and has since influence many gamers in many different directions whether that be getting into more RPGs or becoming part of the gaming industry.
udobald: “Enough already Adam Sessler, we know by now that you hate turn-based RPG’s. Adam sucked in the past, sucks now and will still suck in the future.”
You see it only “sucks” for him because he hates an important part of the game play. Adam…just go play some God of War and just because you suck at something doesn’t mean the world agrees with you. You’re no one and you will always continue to be dirt.
Adam mentions how the music sucks…Um if I’m not mistaken, FF7 has some of the most over used music in online media arts (that’s the only way I can describe it). It’s hard to argue against millions of fans Adam. So really you suck. I pretty sure I’m done with X-Play for good.
But hey, some of you all may agree with him. I would love to talk with you if you oppose me views. You can find me via Daizex or clicking my name to get to my website. I can’t wait to see what the rest of you have to say.

Maybe I’m giving X-Play too much credit, but I detect a tongue planted firmly in cheek. Seriously, the segment is called “Your Childhood Sucks.” Looking back, it’s safe to say that everyone’s childhood sucked. NOTHING is ever as awesome as it seemed at the time.

And no, RPGs aren’t known for their replayability. These games are often an 80-hour investment. If you didn’t go everywhere and do everything the first time, there isn’t much incentive to slog through the whole thing again for that one hidden treasure chest. (Chrono Trigger is the exception to the rule.)

Eh, I was never overly fond of the game to start with, but X-Play has NEVER been overly kind to the RPG genre, so I’d take it with a grain of salt.
