It's all part of Nintendo staying one step behind the other consoles. There was cartridges instead of CDs on N64, no online play on GameCube, and now no HD on Wii. Next console Nintendo will have HD but won't have something new that the other consoles will have. I certainly didn't think I was a graphics whore... But... Wow... That looks fantastic. Braid is gorgeous. I don't think HD is totally necessary as of yet, and most releases on the Wii are "meh" enough to not really matter (Who wants to see some crap- mini game collection in high-def?) or look good enough in SD to stand on their own merits). By the time HDTV is the norm, I'm moderately sure that it'll be a no brainier by then. Of course, the same could've been said for online last-generation. Gah... I don't know. Nintendo is weird.
